Principal Engineer – Design and Development- Oil System Components

Key Accountabilities: 

  • Develop technically challenging solutions based on standard designs that provide an attractive solution for both the customer and Rolls-Royce.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Able to provide cost-effective solutions
  • Consider requirements from customer, design, test, production, and regulatory requirements.
  • Deal with manufacturers taking in to account the Rolls-Royce Power Systems policies.
  • Ability to interact with cross fictional teams 
  • Provide technical documentation as required for manufacturing, assembly, test and trouble shooting in all the Power System aspects of Rolls-Royce Power Systems products.
  • Provide technical training and support to the team
  • Communicate effectively with Global team.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s/ bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from a reputed college / University
  • Has at least 10-12 years working experience in the domain
  • Expertise in PTC Creo (modelling/assembly and detailing) and Windchill
  • Experience in working with Oil system and its function, able to interpret Fluid CFD and structural analytics FEA results.
  • Should have strong understanding of mechanical engineering/Manufacturing processes like casting, machining, die and pattern, Sheet metal, piping etc.
  • Hands on experience in casting domain parts like Oil Pan, Suction Basket Cast Parts.
  • Experience in design of Oil dipsticks for different applications and customer requirements.
  • Experience on oil pan suitability check (DMU fill analysis) with respect to different inclinations.
  • Experience on Calculation of Oil Pan capacity and oil consumptions for Engine applications Like Genset, Marine, Rail, C&I ..etc
  • Ability to drive the complete project to implement till series production within timeline. Ability to push cross functions to get results.
  • Experience on Tolerance Stack Analysis, DFMEA, DAV, DVPs for the components Like Oil pan, Oil dipstick, suction basket, oil filler neck. Etc
  • Preparation of Specification sheets for procured components.
  • Experience in the qualification process and Knowledge in testing for Oil Pan,Dipstck,filler neck,suction basket..etc.
  • Experience in handling deviation allowances, Line calls.
  • Experience in resolving field issues with first time and right approach.
  • Ability to deal with local and Global manufacturers in a professional way.
  • Experienced to interpret/validate the test specifications/ Results for different diesel engine components.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems, preferably SAP.
  • Knowledge of PLM systems, preferably Windchill.
