Job Title: Head of Finance
Department: Finance and Accounting
Organization: MTU India/ Rolls Royce Power System
Desired start date:  June 2021
Reporting to: Stationary Power Solutions Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Job Purpose:

A subsidiary CFO is the value integrator of the entity. They are responsible for calibrating the value generation and continuously improving margin quality, cost efficiency, and cash generation of the subsidiary. He / She will report directly to the Stationary Power Solutions CFO, has a strong functional line to the subsidiary Managing Director, and a strong relationship with the other subsidiary CFOs. The MTU India CFO and the Managing Director are the core team of their subsidiary.

Job responsibilities:

  • Act as a sparring partner for the Managing Director, business functions, and the Stationary CFO
  • Responsible for steering the strategic and operational financial performance of the subsidiary
  • Set steering impulses to continuously improve the performance and value generation of the subsidiary including margin expansion, cost efficiency, and cash generation
  • Responsible for the accuracy and validity of forecasting, planning, and reporting according to the RRPS framework
  • Responsible for ensuring strict compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and applicable regulatory laws and regulations for financial and tax reporting and for ensuring timely and effective closure of statutory audits
  • Manage funds-flows, working capital, credit management, term loans, Forex matters and ensure transactional KPIs (AR, AP, etc.) are maintained
  • Be a catalyst for bringing continuous improvements in processes, including more efficient digital solutions
  • Act as the compliance champion for the subsidiary
  • Ensure existence and maintenance of a strong internal control framework across the subsidiary
  • Responsible for drafting, implementing, and updating local financial policies and processes aligned to corporate guidelines and local best practices on a timely and periodic basis
  • Perform periodic business and process risk assessments and provide short- and long-term mitigation plans and escalations whenever required
  • Supervise legal issues applicable to MTU India, including but not limited to, examination of legal contracts, ensuring adherence to local laws and corporate guidelines, holding board meetings, and protecting the company against civil and criminal suits
Experience
  • Success working in high paced, global, matrixed industrial organizations
  • Extensive and proven ability to lead and guide various functions in Finance, Accounting, Corporate Compliance, and Business Strategy.
  • Tax expert
  • Excellent knowledge of all direct and indirect taxes, accounting standards, costing, and IFRS.
  • Business expansion, transformation, and M&A experience
  • Chartered accountant (Law background, ICWA, Company Secretary are added advantages)

Skills and personal attributes
  • Possesses strong cross-functional thinking, interpersonal and negotiation skills to communicate with and influence various stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of Indian and European cultures
  • Fluent English
  • Experience working in SAP
  • Knowledge of the Diesel and Gas engine industry is an added advantage
